I just gotten the most expensive portrait lens ever, the Canon 85mm f1.2L, about a week ago and yesterday it could not focus after i mounted it on my camera. It just couldn’t auto focus and even manual focus. This is so frustrating, i have merely used it only once for Albert and Melissa’s pre-wedding shoot. What luck!!
*SULK*
Updates: I got back my lens and i don’t have to pay for anything. Apparently, Canon Service Center found no problem with the lens and return it back to me. I put it on my camera and this time round, its WORKING! *happy*
“Rain, rain, go away, come back on another day.”
Yet another rainy afternoon when i was shooting Albert and Melissa’s pre-wedding. In fact, it has been raining every afternoon for the last couple of weeks. Luckily, I brought forward the shoot to a morning one and luckily, the rain stopped about 15 minutes after it started in the late afternoon. The day couldn’t have end any better. Phew!
Anyway, other than the weather, the shoot was fantastic, Albert and Melissa were great, the makeup artist (from The Makeup Room) was very committed and 36frames videographers were very enthusiastic. The couple was very natural in front of the camera, even though they kept mentioning to me that they will be very stiff in front of the camera. Well, things always go naturally once they enjoy the shoot. The mood, the smiles and the laughter just fall into place. :)

I want this watch!! *drooling*

The Alexandra Road Swing has always been very popular among wedding couples. And not many people know the exact location. In fact, I have asked so many times how to go there or where exactly is the location. Well, I don’t mind sharing, hence I am going to reveal this secret place. ;)
It’s at Canterbury Road. Do a search on the street directory on how to get there, it’s not really that difficult to find that place.
UNFORTUNATELY, the swing plank has been removed by the nearby residents to discourage wedding couples from using the swing for the photoshoots. Why? One resident complained to me that the wedding couples always littered the place with rose petals, flower bouquets, tissues wiped with sweat, drink packets, etc and the residents are the one who have to keep the place clean. That explains, huh.
Even with the swing taken down, Canterbury Road location is still a heavy utilised place for pre-wedding photoshoots. A gentle reminder goes out to all wedding couples who is going there, please take away with you any litters you may have and keep the place clean. Imagine this scenario, you were there for your bridal shoot but there was scattered litter all around by the previous couples and your photographer had a hard time capturing a clean shot. -_-”

Yes, book early to avoid disappointment!
Just recently, two wedding couples came up to me to confirm me to be their wedding photographer. Their weddings are in November this year, and unfortunately I’ve already been booked on their wedding dates. I felt disappointed too. One of the couples was quite close to me and they especially love my works. I was eager to document their wedding in fact. :(
So my advice goes out to you couples who are planning to get married. Plan and book early, especially couples getting married towards the year end. Be kiasu! Hahaa… I reckon to plan as early as a year before your wedding date.
I met Ming Bridges over the weekend, over a editorial shoot with a group of Lasalle students. She was alot of fun and young and talented and pretty and lively and … the list will never end. Haha!
Anyway, here are some of the candid shots i took of her at the House at Dempsey Road. Very very nice place to hang out actually.

MOP Asia 08 (Month of Photography) is Singapore’s annual festival of photography that features the work of some of the best local and international photographers and for this year, this art showcase will be held sometime in June.
And guess what? I am selected to be one of the local photographers to exhibit my works! WOW!! My first exhibition, very first. Haha… Gosh, i can’t contain my exuberance. This is going to be a very awesome experience for me and am really really looking forward to it!
Anyway, just a little bit more details in my involvement. I have discussed with the producer and definitely i am going to do portraits which is my forte. However, instead of the wedding and fashion portraits i usually do, the producer wants me to work along a dance theme after he was impressed by my series of dance photos. ^_^
Update: MOP Asia 08 has been postponed to a later date.
36frames will be going Australia for pre-wedding shoots in late August! Destination will be Sydney, and hopefully some other states too.
Interested couples can email me for more details. Remember to ask about our promotion! =)
After the long wait since their pre-wedding shoot done on 9th August 2007, Singapore National Day, Perryn finally weds Su-Lyn over the weekend!
It’s a day that Su-Lyn had eagerly waited, and a day that Perryn can’t wait to marry his love. A wedding blessed by all their families, relatives (really alot!) and friends.
To the lovely couple, thanks for all the praises about my work. Here’s a slideshow dedicated to you, with your song.
Updates:
It’s such a great joy when couples came back to say how great my works are! This is what Su-Lyn had texted me last night.
“Everyone loves the slideshow so much! They think it’s very well done and very artisticy! Good job! My mummy loves All your shots and my sister saw it 5 times in a row and cried!”
